It’s time to turn up the heat ladies, because Beach Bunny Swimwear will be sizzling things up this summer! By: Shanae Cole

Established in 2006, Beach Bunny Swimwear has become a world renowned company thanks to its innovative beachwear. Founder of Beach Bunny Swimwear, Angela Chittenden had a budding passion for couture at an early age. “Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always loved fashion and swimwear,” she explains, taking a momentary break from her jam-packed schedule to speak about her design philosophy. “So being able to combine the two is a dream come true for me.” It is because of this accomplishment that the company was able to open branded storefronts in 2009. During the month of February five new collections were launched which included; the Mermaid, Alpha Girl, Tart Noire, Class Act, and Goddess swimwear collections. Top models Irina Shayk, Rosie Hunnington, and Joanna Krupa were chosen to sport the new swimwear collections, an additive that’s bound to grab the attention of onlookers.

Beach Bunny Swimwear is not your average summer swim attire, but rather the “crème de la crème” of 2010 swimwear! All collections are embellished with luxury fabrics and hardware trim unlike the swimwear found in department stores. One of my favorite collections is the Mermaid Collection, which includes rich jewel tones and swarovsky crystal detailing. If I hadn’t known that this was a swimwear collection, I would have mistaken it for lingerie, but one thing to note about Beach Bunny Swimwear is that their motto is to bring out the “sexiness in all the swimsuits”. Needless to say, that the swimwear’s “sexiness” is complimented by their seductive Brazilian cuts. Recently, Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, and Khloe Kardashian Odom teamed up with Beach Bunny Swimwear to design their own collection. Each sister created 2 styles for the summer collection, uniquely showcasing their individual styles. Another unique element to Beach Bunny Swimwear is that the tops and bottoms are sold separately so that you are able to mix and match items, giving you the freedom to create your own look that will keep heads turning! With catchy swimwear names like, “Double Trouble”, and “Chain of fools” (with actual chains included), it’s no wonder that Beach Bunny Swimwear is making headlines. On the Rise: Designer, Sheila Frank!

Have you ever looked at a runway ensemble and thought, "That's nice, but where in the world would i wear that to?" HIFASH MAGAZINE is happy to announce that we have found the solution to all of your runway woes, Sheila Frank, an up and coming designer from Pennsylvania. Her collections range from any day "out & about" wear to high fashion, couture designs. In 2007, Sheila Frank began her Swimwear label influenced by pinups of the 40's and 50's and a Resort Swim collection. Soon thereafter, in 2008, Sheila showed a Demi Couture collection in Jan 2008. For her Spring 2009 Collection, Sheila showed a RTW Collection that was more of a party-girl style. Most recently, Sheila showed a RTW Collection for Spring 2010 that is the most wearable/ marketable compared to previous collections. This collection did not include swimwear for the first time, which is Sheila's staple.

Sheila uses her strong work ethic and continuous creativity to focus on the growth of her label and innovation in her designs. A lover of design from eras past fused with modern aesthetics, Sheila believes that all women deserve to look and feel stylish, no matter what shape or size. This sentiment is reflected in her carefully constructed garments and unique designs. An avid animal lover, Sheila never uses leather or fur in her clothing line. Sheila has shown in NYC during two fashion week seasons and donated her designs to many charity events, including Seam Collective's "Forte Fashion Show" for Gilda's Club, "The Purple Event" benefit for Anita Kaufmann Foundation. At the Purple Event, many stars came out to support the reason behind the color. Purple is the international symbol for epilepsy- a condition that causes seizures. The Anita Kaufmann Foundation raises funding to teach fifth graders about why seizures happen and what to do if someone you know has one. Sheila Frank's current Fall 2010 Collection is called “Death by Paparazzi". This ready-to-wear collection represents the violence that can be associated with aggressive paparazzi attempts and “features the bold color combination of red and white together with patterns developed from dye splatters to resemble blood.”

On the Rise: Designer, Cory Couture!

Cory Couture is one the most unique fashion designers that we at HIFASH have had the pleasure of being exposed to. Cory started designing two years ago from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and is now located in San Francisco, California. Fascinated and captivated by the different colors and textures in the design field, he enrolled in the San Francisco State University and graduated with a Fashion Design degree. His skill, knowledge, and passion are heavily displayed in all of his extravagant pieces. He specializes in the Vietnamese Ao Dai designs, wedding, evening and ballroom gowns. Cory also creates beautiful swimwear and ice-skating designs. His 1st Elegant Evening Gown Fashion Show took place at Viet Idol December 2006 with Thuy Tien Entertainment. Thereafter, he has held numerous charity fashion shows and his been the headlining designer in many fashion shows.

Cory has designed custom gowns for Miss Vietnam Global, Miss Asian American, Miss San Francisco, Miss Teen Chinatown, and Miss San Jose California. Cory Couture is currently based in the San Francisco area and hopes to introduce his designs to different areas. Cory enjoys creating and showcasing his collections to diverse audience. Celebrities Cory has designed for include singer Kelly Rowland and actress Erica Hubbard from ABC Family's Lincoln Heights. Needless to say, we love his attention to detail and exquisite designs and are very excited to work with him in the near future!

On the Rise: Designer, Melani Von Alexandria!

We at HIFASH strive to advocate those who are a step above the rest. One of those being Philadelphia born and raised designer, Melani Von Alexandria. She made her debut at the world-renowned Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City, which is huge accomplishment for any designer. We are proud to announce that she will be one of the designers featured in the premiere issue of HIFASH! More about Melani after the jump -

The Von Alexandria Fall 2010 collection, also known as 'the asian ballerina' is a symbolic creative vision of eclectic power, movement, and romance. The collection transitions from a rehearsal hall to wearable pieces that have strong references on the geisha and her former life as a ballet dancer. The line was inspired by Melani's former years dancing with Koresh Dance School in Philadelphia, this collection is consistent with the Alexandria couture side, a trademark perfectly aligned as a staple for feminine empowerment and eclectic romance. The collection is womanly, sensual and beautiful.

Designer Melanie Von Alexandria explores the significance of innovative beauty in her ready-to-wear, couture and jewelry collections. MVA’s ongoing collaboration with the City of Philadelphia has revived fashion history. The designer’s ingenuity has garnered unwavering support and excitement in her quest to address the daily struggles of a city gripped with violence in cinematic style.

Remarkably, The City of Philadelphia is now Von Alexandria’s official source of confiscated weapons for her jewelry line which named the project, ‘Operation: MWVA—Melting Weapons of Violence into Accessories’ in her honor. The importance of Melanie’s vision allows her as the FIRST designer to melt and sculpt guns confiscated by Philadelphia Sheriff’s deputies into cuffed bracelets, pendants and other accessories. We at HIFASH admire such creativity, especially with such a positive message! She is definitely giving jewelery designers a run for their money on the creative angle! The symbiotic relationship in leading Philadelphia business owners to address this issue adds depth to an edgy sophistication.

The designer has now designed for Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child/The Color Purple, and Olivia Jones.

We can't wait to see what else is in store for this extremely talented woman! She is definitely a designer to watch for!

Philadelphia Fashion Week '10 Goes Out With A BANG!

Hifash Magazine was lucky enough to be attendance at the Philadelphia Fashion Week finale event, the Couture Runway Show. The show was absolutely beautiful topped with high energy and pulsating music. Saturday night's designers included: Nevets Couture, Melani Von Alexandria, Ying Edge, Ray Vincente, Mon Ari 1962, Todd Anthony, Ke Collection and Cory Couture.We are excited to see what next year will bring! Heart Truth Red Dress Show Kicked Off Fashion Week

The Heart Truth Red Dress event featured 20 celebrities in red dresses which will be auctioned off for heart disease awareness and research.

Some of Hollywood’s biggest style stars brought fashion and awareness together Thursday night for The Heart Truth’s Red Dress Collection’s fashion show.

Kim Kardashian, Heidi Klum, Kimora Lee Simmons, and Elisabeth Hasselbeck were just a few of the twenty stars who worked the red carpet in unique red dresses, which will be auctioned off for research and heart disease awareness. The event kicked of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York City.
“I think it is very important for women if they can to make a splash,” 'Project Runway” host and model Heidi Klum told Fox411. “So for me, all the beautiful women that are here today to walk the Red Dress fashion show, have a red dress on and talk about something that is important for us women … is hopefully helping some women out there.”
According to The Heart Truth, heart disease is the number one killer in women and one woman dies every minute from a cardiovascular event.
“Finding out all the statistics just made me really want to jump on board and be here and I’m so glad I am,” Kim Kardashian told Fox411. “I think you have to try and eat well and work out and live a healthy lifestyle.
